While not as prolific as rugmaking cities elsewhere in Persia, many of the rarest and highest-quality carpets originated here. Tribal influences are evident in heavily geometric motifs and bold colors. Many rugs in this region were originally woven for sale in a cottage industry that surrounded major rug-making cities. For such village-constructed rugs, pile dying, rug design, and weaving were all performed by a single weaver. This rug has been treated with an antique wash, softening its tones to appeal to the palette of any modern-day home. Pattern, color variation, and signs of wear with vintage items is normal. If you have specific questions about wear or colors, email hello[at]passerinehome[dot]com or call us to discuss this rug in more detail.

We recommend using rug pads to extend the life of all Passerine rugs.
